Spiral time winking by
faster every second, every minute
pounding in your brain
“Round and round she goes!
Where she stops, nobody knows!”
Time is a place
like any other

Turning, spinning, twisting,
making me dizzy.
Socrates, Horatio, Zeus, Jesus, Melville…
Enlightenment, arts, cultures,
civilization, kings, queens,
Dark ages, plagues, witchcraft,
fire, war, reformation,
Christian, Muslim, Buddha,
Nazis, KKK, Japanese, Russians,
Atomic bomb, Cold War, Sputnik,
NASA, Armstrong, planets…
“One giant… leap for mankind.”
Circling, whirlwind of time,
spinning upward
twisting downward,
creating a blue blur
of people, places and things.
“Forever is……. forevvvvvvvvver!”
When will it stop?
Time is fleeing, flying, passing,
onward, ahead,
darkening, brightening,
Past! Present! and…. and….!
STOP!!
Written in high school (mid 70s)… probably during one of my math classes.
Wow, your blog looks stunning. Mysterious picture of the header and deep eloquent colors look fine. The poetry too: I see your descriptive line “Written in high school (mid 70s)… “as a key – the similar emotions had visited me in mid 70s too. However, its 2007 now and the 70s looks like a note to prehistoric times.
Of course my emotions sound just childlike in the light of Socrates, Horatio, Zeus, Jesus, Melville…/Enlightenment, arts, cultures,/ civilization, kings, queens, (…) Past! Present! and…. and….!
