DOOM

02 Dec

All hell has broken loose on Mars. Under the guise of an archeological dig, a group of scientists are performing illegal and dangerous experiments on criminal, human subjects. Sarge and his team of militaristic maniacs, RRTS, are sent in to contain the danger… At all cost.

Doom based on the game of the same name, really isn’t as bad as some of the fans of the game expected. It’s fun, has a decent story, some good scares and cool monsters. Some diehard fans, though, are still going to hate it. If you are a fan of Doom, just put thoughts of the game aside and enjoy it for being a good piece of cheese.

In the audience of our theatre, there was a pretty good number of fans. I didn’t hear a negative word, or sound from any of them. In fact, when the star of the movie (no, not The Rock!) the BFG appeared, there were oooohs and applause. I had to quickly explain to the spouse that that was the coveted weapon of the game.

One thing to beware of: if you were ever one of those wimps that got seasick playing the game from its default point of view, there is a section in which you become the hero and it is just a bit nauseating.

All in all, it’s a fun movie.

  1. I felt sick playing the game. I always claimed it was motion sickness but noone believed me!

    Wimp am I?!

I’m going to go cry now…

    Oh.
