And this old tank feels like it is brand new. Of course, I’ve had to go online and remember passwords and all that fun stuff. Bleh. So far I have only installed Firefox on the computer. I’ll get my Paint Shop Pro 8 on here as soon as I can figure out what clever place I put the disk. McAfee will be installed next; after I renew that sucker for $40.00. Gads, isn’t there a FREE virusscan software out there?
They installed Microsoft Anti-Spyware. I’m a little uneasy keeping it, but the tech guy said to just disable it anytime I installed anything and I’d be all right. I hope so.
The tech guy said this was a really nice computer and despite the amount of dust particles and bug bodies in the housing, he was also surprised at the shape the fans were in. He figured they might last another year. Good deal on that.
So, when did you last dust your computer’s interior?
Avast! Antivirus has been a gem to me. I like gadgets and this one talks to you when it updates. The man-voice that emits from my computer makes me jump…I think I like him. He’s my new friend.
*grins*
We had to take the side off of ou old pc and set a little fan on it. It died anyway.
:(
AVG is a good second anti-virus. There is also Antivir. I would run them both. AVG is good at tojans and Antvir is better at worms.

I second the AVG suggestion. I use this on my pc and the free version works really well.
Re: free antivirus, look up AVG or BitDefender.
