He Did It

14 Mar

I’m pointing at my poor husband. He rarely gets sick, but when he does, it’s always one of those lingering colds. He tries his best to keep his germs to himself, but this time it didn’t work. I woke up this morning, ready to head on out to CURVES for my first full day of exercise and I started to cough. My throat was scratchy and there was pressure in my sinuses. I figured I could work through it so I continued to get ready and as I was eating breakfast, it began to snow. Wet snow.

Why? All of a sudden I’m feeling like everything is working against me to keep me from exercising. You mix wet snow with Lupus (a compromised immune system) and a cold, and I could wind up with bronchitis or something equally fun.

I have to keep reminding myself, though, that for eight days in a row I have gone to bed at 2am and gotten up at 9:30am. It’s very difficult because sleeping is the last thing I feel like doing at 2am. In those last eight days I have also walked down and back from CURVES five times, and on saturday I went shopping at the grocery store (with the grocery basket) by myself. Even though I’ve done little work on the exercise machines, I feel rather good.

What difficulties have you had to overcome when attempting to do something you want?

I’ve had bronchitis a couple of times and I agree…you don’t want that to happen.

Mom has lupus also on top of her really bad arthritis. Poor girl. She stays in pretty good spirits though.

    Hi Jayne
I was just reading your ‘About’ page, and noticed you were born in AZ. Are you still living here? I live in the White Mountains. Have lived here for 9+ years, except for a couple of years in IL.

I was diagnosed with Fybromyalgia a while back and one of my big issues is that I am constantly tired, but cant sleep. I am usually up till like 2 or 3AM and then up again when my 5 yo son wakes up in the morning. I started taking high doses of B-12 vitamins and it has really helped me a lot lately. I dont get any more sleep than before, but I dont feel nearly as sleepy through out the day, and the pains is way less.

O something always comes up. way back when (since I have been knocked up or nursing for the past two years ) I used to do really great on a diet and exercise- right up until I got my period. then all i could do is sleep all day. I am going to go get sherry (cousin) at 4:30 and we are going to body and soul! I can only do treadmill, but it is better than nothing!

Take a break, drink some tea, and rest.

My difficulty is juggling multiple schedules and trying to keep just above the water LOL- something always gives…
Take your vitamins and train yourself to get to bed!
