The Good, The Bad, And the Undead by Kim Harrison

07 May

Second in the “witch” series of books by Kim Harrison, this carries on the story of Rachel Morgan. Rachel Morgan, former bounty hunter, who now shares living quarters with Ivy, a living vampire, in an old church, and a sidekick pixie, Jenks, is in more trouble than she was before. After having survived the contract her old employer put out on here when she left the Inderland Runners Service, she is now an independant contractor who is unexpectantly brought in as a consultant by the human run FIB – Federal Investigations Bureau.

As with the first book, Dead Witch Walking, the reader is immediately drawn into Rachel’s world. The dark humor is quick and sharp as a fang. This book was more graphic than the first one, though, and had a rape scene in it that made me pause for a bit before continuing on.

I’m looking forward to the third book, Every Which Way But Dead.
