Or beginning, if you happen to be looking at the clock and it says “after midnight”.
Final word on the neighbor’s dog – they came back today. An animal control officer showed up before they were home, but the dad’s partner was there picking up some equipment. He brought the dog out for the officer to inspect and told the partner he’d be back tomorrow to talk to the owners.
It’s still a mystery quite what happened, but I hope that with a visit from AC pending, that they got the idea that what they did was really bone-headed. The dog, a great pyrenees just under a year old, was happy to see his family.
It still bugs me, though, that we had to sit through five days of that dog’s misery and our hands were basically tied. Any person that loves animals knows how awful it is to hear a lonely dog. To me, what they did was not only stupid, but cruel, and they ought to do the smart thing and give up the dog. They have no right to a pet.
Anyway, that I expect, is the end of it for now.
I’m preparing for hubby to visit his mom and brother in San Jose this weekend. It will be rather silent, but hey, I’ve got the internet and stuff to do.
The weather is cooling beautifully. I heard on the news tonight that they think heating prices won’t be as high as they were last year. They’d better not be. All last winter the utility company was crying about “lack of funds” and then this summer, there was “all this extra money! wow where did it come from?” Yeah… right. I think they realize that if they try to gouge the homeowners and businesses again, they’re in for some legal pain.
Well, I’m actually off to bed early tonight. With the dog next door snug in his house, I can sleep in peace.
what is really stupid is that hotels take pets, there is doggie boarding for when you are not at the hotel, or there is doggie boarding at home if you are gone! I always had our cousin stay at the house and dog sit if we were gone and couldn’t take her with us.
You could personally go over there and have a chat with them. Poor baby. I think I would have taken the dog into my home if it had been that long, whether they liked it or not.
Later!
