Mimi hasn’t been outside since we moved here three years ago. We’ve tried to let her out, but she chose to run and hide under her blanket. Today she wanted to go out. Richard took the dogs into the front yard and I took Mimi into the back.
She was scared and meowed a lot, but once I took her down the steps and put her into one of the gardens, she calmed down a little. She ate some grass (the first food in two days), chased a lizard and a bee, and then she spent several minutes rolling like crazy in the dirt under the deck. After about ten minutes, she meowed at me, trotted up the stairs, ran inside and promptly fell asleep under her blanket.
I don’t know if she’s going to eat or drink again. We have decided not to force anything now. If the medication helps and stimulates her appetite, then it’s good. If it doesn’t and she doesn’t eat anymore, then we’ll take her outside, cuddle with her and just make these last days loving for her.
I think this is the last I’ll write here about Mimi. At least for now. Thanks to everyone for your prayers.
It is so hard when our pets are ill and it sounds like you are doing everything possible to keep Mimi comfortable.
Take care ((hugs))
Even if recovery is a remote hope, still it is comforting to take one good day at a time…and today sounded like a good day to me. Kitty play and kitty tired. Nice.
I hope Mimi is ok.
So very sorry! I love kitties!
