Some Interesting Stumbles

08 Sep

Do you StumbleUpon? I’ve ignored this site for awhile, but have now gotten into it. I’m not much on the social side, but I do enjoy some of the many interesting sites that come up. So, here are some of my most recent Stumbles that you might enjoy, too.

The DM of the Rings from Twenty-Sided: This is a 148 page comic created by a veteran dungeon master of Dungeons & Dragons. He has taken clips from the Lord of the Rings and turned it into an illustration of what D&D gaming is like for the Dungeon Master (the DM). If you’ve ever done any kind of table-top gaming or roleplay, you’ll understand the humor behind this.

Book Crossing – Can’t sell that book on Amazon? Is it hard to giveaway? Release it to the wild, instead. I’ve released 5 books to the wild so far. It’s rather fun to leave a book in a public place and come back a few minutes later to find it gone. It’s also nice to know that someone else is enjoying it rather than it sitting on my shelf or in my trash can.

God Checker – Is your current deity just not doing the trick for you? Find a new god. How about the saints? Do you know the difference between Peter, Paul and Mary? Maybe you’re just interested in the Deity of the Day, or do you need to replace your “Eating People is Wrong” t-shirt.

Have fun and take your vitamins, folks. I’m off to the movies!

  1. How do you have time for that? I can barely keep up with the forum posts! ;)

I had forgotten about Book Crossing – thanks for reminding me! Like the God Checker site, too.

Jane, lovely blog! I love Bookcrossing. I’m a member of the Irish chapter (though I keep forgetting to actually cross the books!) Consequently I have a massive pile of books sitting hopefully by the front door. Great site though.

Jane, I was racking my brain to remember the name of the Book Crossings site. Thanks for the reminder!
