Remake of Death Wish

16 Sep

We saw The Brave One today and I was impressed. A very worthy successor to the Charles Bronson film, Death Wish. My big criticism, though, hasn’t to do with the acting, or the script, but with Jodie Foster herself. I think she’s quite done with playing these “young woman loses innocence” roles. Foster is the same age as I am, 45, and it’s starting to show in the hard edge of her face, but even more sharply in her hands. Of course, I have prettier hands than she does.

Anyway, go and see the movie, if this sort of vigilante type of movie is your thing. Terence Howard, the good cop, is really terrific, as is Naveen Andrews who has a regrettably short appearance.
