Leaves are dropping today and the cold wind is a cutting one. I can’t believe the skateboarding annoyances are in the street right now wearing knit caps, gloves and t-shirts. What’s with teenagers? I vaguely recall not feeling the cold as much as my parents appeared to. Nowadays I’m the first one to notice a chill in the air.
Are you a fan of the Showtime series, Dexter? My husband and I are currently watching the first episode on DVD right now. It’s fascinating and scary. The insight the viewer gets into Dexter’s mind is incredibly eerie. It’s worse when you realize that you find yourself liking Dexter. It’s wrong, though, it’s so very wrong to be sitting there and going, “Yay, Dex!” when he takes out someone evil.
PAUSE…
Well, that was exciting. The wind just ripped the canopy off my porch swing. Except for the canopy cloth being torn in a few places, there were no bent metal screws or anything like that which would make the swing unusuable next year. Hubby had plans to clear off the porch this weekend of the swing and the BBQ grill, but the weather got ahead of him.
Time for a break. Toodles.
A new look! I finally found some time to visit everyone after going nuts with the start of school for both Squirt and Gon.
I miss the cold weather, then again not. It feels so great this time of the year here in the South. However, I’ve become acclimated. When I visit family up North – even in the summer – I freeze and kick myself for not bringing a jacket or more long pants.
They look at me as if I’m crazy.
Teenagers around here wear flip flops all year round, even the skateboarders who often go barefoot. It seldom gets below freezing here, but they also wear shorts year round, even in the kind of rain that knocks over porch furniture.
Was I ever young?
Isn’t that the way of things? We lost out large umbrella the same way one year when the plans to put the outdoor furniture away were a weekend away and a storm blew up during the day. I wasn’t going to go outside and fight the wind, rain, and lightening for an umbrella no matter how much it cost. ;)
I have seen a lot of adds for it, but have never seen it. On the other hand, I have so many shows I try to keep up with now, I don’t know where I would squeeze another one.
It’s really worth the wait, Leaf.
ooh, is that the serial killer who preys on bad guys? We’re getting the first series here in NZ soon (it takes forever for us to get stuff like that) and I can’t wait!
