I’m referring to my new camera; my Christmas present. It was purchased just a bit early since we have to budget our Christmas finances. Anyway, I was expecting it to arrive in about two weeks and it showed up in two days. Dayum! Below is a slideshow of some of the best photos I took today as I was reading through the manual.

It really does a beautiful job, but it’s a heckuva a lot more sensitive than my point and shoot Stylus 300 by Olympus was. Oh, I didn’t say what it was? It is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 7.1 12x zoom digital camera. We got a very good price on a “pro kit” that included a wide angle lens, a zoom lens, a set of filters, lens cleaning kit, USB card reader, camera case and a collapsible tripod. I’m not allowing myself to touch the lenses or the filters until I get a good idea of what I can do without them.

Now that I have this camera I can upload photos online and sell them for downloads at some of the stock photo sites I found last week.

Keep us updated on how the camera works out. You have talked about getting a new camera so much that I would like to see what you end up thinking of this one.
