In between getting my mom set up with a cellphone, talking to friends online and catching up with old friends, we got ourselves out into the rain to see American Gangster. This is the story of Frank Lucas who ran Harlem and the drug trade there during the Vietnam war. It was a really fantastic movie. Denzel Washington, as always, was in great form. Russell Crowe was very interesting as well, and if I’m not mistaken, it appears he put on some weight for the role. Bulked up, but there was a bit of pot around his middle.
