I actually took these photos yesterday but we kept having power outages that kept messing up my ability to get the photos uploaded.
This first one is a beautiful little tree heavily bowed by snow accumulated on its branches.
This next one is a car that was practically buried by the snow. This is NOT snow that was pushed aside by a snow plow or anything like that.
Take a close look at that wire with the snow wrapped around it. The electrical wires have been getting weighed down by the snow. Last night, one of the wires behind us threw off some spectacular sparks as the snow dropped off and the wire snapped back into shape.
We called the utilities about the sparking wire, but it was going on all over town so no one could come and check it. There might be somone later today to see that nothing is out of sorts.
As of midnight last night, the weather bureau said we’d gotten over a foot of snow. So far today we seem to have a reprieve as the snow has stopped. More snow, though, is being forecast, so we’ll see what’s next.

It’s okay Jayne, I feel your pain. I live in Canada :)
Wow! I’m so glad we don’t ever get anything like that in Houston. It’s cloudy and 65 degrees here right now, wearing a short sleeve shirt for the first time in a few weeks.
