One of our neighbors who has his own construction company got disgusted with the unsafe condition of our street, went to his business and brought back a Cat with a plow. He spent the entire day clearing just our section of the street. We now have huge mounds of snow, some at least 5 feet in height. And, they’re saying MORE snow is on the way.
Our driveway, which we don’t shovel because we don’t have a car, is up to my hips. I haven’t seen snow like this since we lived in Nebraska. I just heard on the news that one of the big problems the city is having to deal with is WHERE to put the snow that they’re plowing off the street. Another hazard is that some snow that’s melted in the streets is gathering in dips, freezing at night and making even cautious driving dangerous. Not to mention that pedestrians ought to just give up and stay home.

This is our street before our neighbor got his plow. I’ll get a photo of that tomorrow. Check where the arrow is pointing. That’s the corner of our 3 foot tall fence. That snow drift is so hard packed that we can’t break it down. Panda has come close to running up the side of it and over the fence.

This is underneath our deck steps. The snow that you see on them? That’s all solid ice.

Here’s part of our roof with the icicles hanging down. I am so very tempted to throw a snowball at them, but that’s a bit stupid. You can pull down electrical wires attached to the house or break off part of your roof.

Here’s Panda totally enjoying the snow. I have to get some film of her doing her gazelle impression across the snow. Marcus tries to imitate her, but unfortunately, he sinks, immediately.

Panda certainly looks like she’s enjoying herself. :)
