Well, I went to the eye doc today and discovered that part of the lightheadedness I’ve been experiencing comes from my wandering eye – my left eye. Just as I said, it wanders unless I am concentrating on the left eye and making it look in a particular direction. To fix this wandering eye, my glasses have a prism correction in them. It’s real fun to give my glasses to someone else; nearly makes them vomit. However, what the prism does is force my left eye to behave and to work with the right one.
Well, my glasses are old, the eyes are older, and the strength of the prism correction isn’t enough to keep the left eye in place. So, when it decides to get distracted by something else, I get lightheaded and dizzy. Fun? No.
Reading glasses with a prism correction will get things shaped up.
I am also experiencing lightheadedness from an inner ear thingymabob. That is getting treated and I’m feeling much better now.
The only problem now, though, is I am still having problems in concentrating on stuff. I’ve no idea where that’s coming from and may get an answer when I have my six-month blood letting. Maybe one of my meds is wreaking havoc. Who knows.
Anyway, I’m still pretty much staying away from the computer and am still somewhat anti-social. It’s not that I don’t like anyone right now, it’s just hard to hold a conversation. I go spacey and forget either who I’m talking to or what we’re talking about. For now, I really only have the attention span to talk to my husband.
So, I do miss you folks I talk to on a regular basis and really don’t mean to push you away; I’m just not all here, yet. I should be back soon, though.
Jayne, glad you are starting to feel better, and hope you get more answers soon.
I’d trade ears with you, but mine wouldn’t do you much good either. I’m a terrible listener ;)
And here I thought you were finally going out and getting tose break dancing lessons you always wanted.
I sorry baby! I hope you feel better soon!
Great news that the wandering eye can be corrected. That has got to have played havoc with the way you see the world. I had an inner ear thingamabob a few years ago and it affected everything that I did, so hopefully with knowledge will come cures.
I’m going in for surgery next week. Hopefully we will both soon be healthy and functioning.
Well, I’m a little bit relieved to know where the dizziness is coming from, and that it’s a fixable sort of thing.
Miss you, too, Jayne! Hope you’re back around soon!
Oh, I forgot to mention: My ex-wife used to complain about my wandering eye, but I don’t think she was referring to the same condition as you… ;)
Miss you, too, Jayne. So sorry to hear about these problems; hope you’re much better very soon.
Love,
E
