When Richard and I go out to the movies, there’s a food court near the ticket sales office. As food courts go, it’s rather nice. I see a lot of business people relaxing there with newspapers or magazines, and students can be found doing homework there. Food courts are usually noisy, filled with too many screaming kids, and generally dirty. This one is constantly being cleaned.
There are lots of little cubby places or niches where you can take your food and this kaleidoscopic indian presides over one of those niches. It never fails, of the four tables that are in this spot, I always wind up sitting so that I’m facing this guy.
I have no idea who painted him, if there is a story behind him, or what, but he’s beautiful. I wish I could take him home as there is something about the colours that I find soothing. Odd, since I generally shy away from such peacock hues.

It’s interesting how all those bright colours together can be soothing.
Looks like a wonderful painting – and, like you, I tend to shy away from bright colors.
