Here is a story I think everyone should read: Primary School. Why should you read it? It’s about what happens when we, ADULTS, don’t listen to what children are trying to say to us.
I read about abuse more and more these days and am appalled at how much it is out there. It sickens me. It makes me glad, in a bittersweet kind of way, that we couldn’t have children.
Children are annoying and adults are impatient. It’s the way it’s always been. However, we’re the grown-ups who are supposed to keep the young ones safe. We need to listen.
This story really touched me because it described rather closely what I went through when I was in school. I poured my heart into my stories, and my artwork. No adult ever picked up that I was hurting and being hurt.
So… read this story, adults, and listen.
