You told me not to worry

You said it would all be taken care of

You suggested I go and play in the sunshine because it would not be there forever

I trusted you

I listened to every word you spoke

I was assured,
deep in my soul,
that you were right and there was nothing to fear

If you were here
instead of there
I could tell you that you were wrong.

You were wrong.

You were wrong.
