Saturday 9: As Answered By Prof. Snape

This is Saturday 9: Be True to Your School as answered by Severus Snape as I am busy ordering pizza. — Jayne d’Arcy

Severus Snape1. What was your favorite subject in high school Hogwarts?

I have a suspicion you were thinking I would reply “Potions”. As enjoyable as I find the subject, after all, I am a Master of Potions, my instructor, Horace Slughorn, had a non-existant imagination. He followed the Ministry sanctioned curriculum to the letter. He also NEVER invited me to be a part of his elite students in his Potions (read “social”) club. Therefore, I quite enjoyed Transfiguration. Even though my instructor, Minerva McGonagall, is a staunch Gryffindor, she is one instructor who sees talent in a student and no matter which House they are in, she encourages them.

2. Do you watch reality shows? Which ones?

Most wizards do not have televisions. Our magical core has a tendency to interact poorly with such Muggle devices. However, one of the more forward thinking wizards of our day, Ambrose Technowatt, has managed to power simple things like refrigerators, computers, and televisions magically so they can be used by any curious witch or wizard.

I do have a television in my home in Spinner’s End. When I have time, I prefer old movies; classic fare, if you will. I do admit to watching the Survivor series now and again. It amazes me as to how many ways they can profess friendship as they are stabbing said friend in the back.

3. What’s your favorite all time reality show?

You’re repeating yourself. However, as I suspect this is a deficiency of the meme, I shall answer, Survivor.

4. Do you feel “reality” shows are real or are they faked?

In a sense, real, but one must keep in mind that entertainment comes first and if there is nothing to keep the audience’s attention, that entertainment must be manufactured.

5. What did you look like when you were a teenager?

Like I do now, but shorter. You’re beginning to go from annoying into the obnoxious realm.

6. Whose advice do you listen to?

Grudgingly, Albus Dumbledore. Only because I am not entirely fond of his twinkling eye mystery, and I despise sherbet lemons. I actually listen a bit more to Minerva who appears to be more cognizant of the world that surrounds us.

7. How often are you sick?

I am perfectly healthy until someone decides to hit me with a Cruciatus Curse.

8. Do you like or dislike change?

I dislike change, but I will welcome change once this war is at an end.

9. How many times in your life have you had a broken heart?

Once, if you must know.
