Internet Explorer Script Error

10 Nov

I have an internet script error that is bugging the hell out of me. For one thing, the script error shows up at bootup; no browsers are loaded, and certainly not IE8 which I don’t use. I’m using Win Vista, btw. All the documentation I’ve found on disabling or fixing these errors tell me to reset the security defaults in IE8. Since I never use that browser, the defaults are already in place.

Here’s the screenshot of the error:

I recently removed a Yahoo Search Bar that had installed itself in IE8.

Does anyone know how I can get rid or this or fix it?

Let me ask Jon, he’s good at getting rid of those things, other than the bangers I get with XP’s service pack 3 upgrades. :(

Thanks, Margie, but that has to do with errors that show up when you’re in IE8 and those are the default settings. This error shows up at bootup and there is nothing in my Startup that refers to this script or IE8.

Go to Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, check Disable script debugging, and uncheck Display a notification about every script error. Click Apply and OK, close IE and open again. Those debugging errors shouldn’t appear anymore.
