Here’s some nice, polite questions that don’t require a lot of thought. Grab your indulgent drink, and join me in Sunday Stealing.

1. What are your current obsessions?

Writing Harry Potter fan fiction. It’s a happy disease.

2. Which item from your wardrobe do you wear most often?

A long, patchwork dress from India. My favourite store is HolyClothing.com at eBay and Lotus in the Moonlight, also at eBay.

Panda @ River Park Square. Orange Chicken, Sweet n Sour Pork with steamed rice for me, and the husband went with the steamed rice with Kung Pao Chicken, Green Beans n Beef and something with hot peppers.

Disposable Brita Water Filtration Faucet – This is my second one. It works nicely.

Mission Hill by Pribek

Chronicles of Chrestomanci

The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Volume 1: Charmed Life / The Lives of Christopher Chant The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Volume 1: Charmed Life / The Lives of Christopher Chant by Diana Wynne Jones

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
I decided to read this volume after I read several reviews here at Good Reads that declared Diana Wynne Jones is a better writer than JK Rowling. I have to agree. I definitely enjoyed the two stories in this book from a writer’s standpoint much better. I think where the two authors differ is that Rowling carried a set number of characters through her 7 books that all tied together as one story. Jones weaves her story with different characters with their own stories in one world.

As far as a story goes, I think they’re both terrific stories. However, The Chronicles of Chrestomanci are certainly well within the realm of young peoples fantasy fiction. Rowling’s books started out as something I think would be fine for a young person to read, but in my opinion, by the fifth book, I would not recommend them to young people to read as I felt the story became dark.

I already have the next volume on my wishlist at Amazon since I now want to learn more about the worlds of Chrestomanci.
