Yep, I Won The iPod

01 Mar

Of course, it’s going to take about two months before it manages to show up. I had a lot of fun creating glogs and interacting with people on Glogster.com. They’re going to have more contests, but I think I’ll just continue messing about and not worry about points and so on.

Still haven’t decided what to do with the iPod, though. More than likely if I don’t keep it will head to eBay.

I’ve been soooo neglecting this blog, but to be honest, there hasn’t been much to write about. I don’t go anywhere, I don’t do anything, and writing about the weather gets awfully stale.

However, it doesn’t mean I’m not keeping busy. I’ve been talking to a couple of good people online, I’ve been working on a story, and I’ve joined FictionPress.com. I’m going to start putting up some of my short stories over there. Maybe they’ll get a wider audience then on my blog.

I know I’ve been told I ought to collect my stories in a book, self-publish and sell it, but making money off my stories is really not what I want. I suppose if I put effort into it I could make some money, but that’s not why I write. If it were, there’d be so many ads plastered all over this blog you wouldn’t be able to get past the first word without buying something you don’t need.

I love telling stories. My fondest memories when I was kid was having an audience around me as I made up a story on the fly. I want my stories to be read and enjoyed. That’s what is important to me. Here’s a comment that was left recently on my story, The Affair:

Writing like yours is the stuff that ends up famous after the author dies, lmao- plaguing students for centuries.

I like that thought. Thanks, Lav.

There are just times when you need “bubble gum pop” because it can always make you smile. Just click on the little triangle arrows to listen to Monkees music from Then and Now.
