Well, Wasn’t That A Nice Break?

08 Sep

As you can see by the byline of the previous post, it wasn’t me! It was a more coherent, Thesaurus equipped, snarky professor.

I have 23 followers on Twitter. Do any of them realise I’m not twittering for days at a time? Sometimes months. This sort of thing is happening several places that I joined once upon a time and then abandoned.

DO NOT BE A JOINER!!

IT WILL COME BACK AND HAUNT YOU!!!

Are you a fan of PRIBEK? You’re not? Well, remedy that! Jeesh!

I found this interesting interview last night. It could have been done a few days ago, or years. I can’t tell because someone doesn’t date their posts!

From the interview at Jemsite: The Guitar Hero Series

I got interested in the guitar several years before I started playing. I remember seeing B.B. King on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I was maybe 8 or 9 and something about what he did really grabbed me. When I was 14, I saved $50 up from mowing lawns and bought a Supro guitar and Supro amp from a guy who was a couple of years older. I messed around with it on my own and took a few lessons. Eventually, I ran in to Ron Roskowske, who is a great teacher. He was working at a music store in Washington, Missouri. I took lessons from Ron sort of off and on. I would go for a couple months and, see this was a deal, where my Mom had to drive me 30 miles each way so; I’d take a break for a few months and absorb what Ron showed me. It’s a good way to learn really.

How many of you use themes that don’t date your posts?

uh-huh. That many, hm?

Well? Fix it!

Interviewed By Shadowweaver

18 May

My friend Shadoweaver, aka Yvonne, has interviewed me with the following questions:

  1. What are some of your creative influences?

Writers that have influenced me are Stephen King and Frank Herbert. Artists that have influenced and inspired me are H. R. Giger and Monet.

  2. What, either within a creative field, would you like to see more of? (This can be either personally or if, say, you had a chance to talk to a favorite artist/writer and say “could you do more of this or that in your art/writing?”)

This is a tough question, for some reason. I always want more from my favorite writers. I’d hate to see the day when there were no more Stephen King books, for instance.

  3. Which leads to – which artist and/or writer (living or dead) would you like to meet?

Monet. I would liked to have just walked in his gardens with him during his time at Giverney.

  4. Is there anything, past or present, that you would change in your creative endeavors?

No. I don’t like looking backwards these days. I made both good and bad choices and as much as I’d like to make the perfect choice every single time, it doesn’t work that way. I haven’t time to second guess myself anymore, so it’s best to keep moving ahead.

  5. Which is your favorite creative medium and why?

I really don’t like to narrow myself down to a favorite. I’m my artwork, my writing, my drawing, my photography. Depending on the mood I’m in, I go with whatever gives me the most satisfaction. Lately I’ve been writing. Tomorrow, I may draw or take more photos of flowers.

  6. What is your favorite genre to read?

In this order, gothic horror, mystery, science fiction, true crime.

  7. What is your favorite genre to write in?

    Horror

Randomness: At The Movies

06 May

randomness…feed your mind and your blog

week of May6: At the Movies

1. Do you like going to the movie threater? How often do you go? What treats do you buy when you go?

I love going to the theatre. We go once a week. We buy water. No snacks.

2. Cell phones in the theater, do you keep yours on or off?

OFF. Cell phone noise is annoying, but I really hate the blue and green lights that they throw off.

3. What’s the last movie you went to see in the theater?

Hot Fuzz. It was a very excellent movie. Funny with a nice touch of black comedy.

4. Have you ever waited on line for an obscene amount of time (several hours) just to get tickets to a movie? Also, have you ever dressed up as a film character…..i.e. a hobbit, a witch or wizard…while watching a movie?

Waited in line once; for the premiere of Star Wars. Two hours and dressed up, too. I’ve never dressed as a movie character.

5. What do you like most and least about going to the movies?

Spending time with my husband and getting away from the house, neighborhood, etc.

6. What’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen? Why?

Natural Born Killers. We walked out on it.

I Have Been Here Before
