Sunday Stealing – The TV Meme

1. Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:

Star Trek

2. Name a show you can’t miss:

Bones

3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:

David Boreanz

4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:

Ron Palillo – of course, I don’t think he did anything after Welcome Back, Kotter.

5. Name a show you can, and do, quote from:

I haven’t quoted from TV shows in a long time. My favorite quote is from a book: So it goes.

6. Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:

Survivor – it’s my mother’s fault I started watching this trash reality show. Now I can’t stop. Of course, my husband doesn’t like any shows I watch.

7. Name a TV show which you’ve been known to sing the theme song:

NCIS – that’s a great theme song.

8. Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:

Bones – although, if you don’t like seeing gross dead bodies (not that I like that sort of thing – I just close my eyes!!) then you’d hate it.

9. Name a TV series you own:

None

10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but has surprised you with his/her acting chops in television:

Jerry Orbach – I didn’t know, at first, that he began as a singer. He was a brilliant actor and I miss him.

11. What is your favorite episode of your favorite series?

I have no idea!

12. Name a show you keep meaning to watch, but you just haven’t gotten around to yet:

Heroes

13. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?

Yes. Lost – loved it, but it continually kept getting so twisted it became annoying.

14. Name a show that’s made you cry multiple times:

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – can’t watch that without kleenex nearby.

15. What do you eat when you watch TV?

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner – no dining room table.

16. How often do you watch TV?

Four hours at night. I used to be a huge TV watcher and practically never turned it off. Too many noisy commercials and noisy, useless shows these days. I can’t stand noise these days, so it’s off.

17. What’s the last TV show you watched?

NCIS – there’s a marathon on right now.

18. What’s your favorite/preferred genre of TV?

Crime Drama or reality

19. What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?

I hate to admit this, but it was Star Trek & Gilligan’s Island. Must See TV.

20. What TV show do you wish you never watched?

Gilligan’s Island. I can’t believe I was so obsessed with it. Doesn’t matter that I was a kid.

21. What’s the weirdest show you enjoyed?

Mad Mad House – this thing was an enjoyable train wreck.

22. What TV show scared you the most?

Night Gallery – Rod Serling is KING.

23. What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?

Johnny Carson – the only other late night talk show host who comes up to Carson’s calibre is Craig Ferguson.

And before I forget… you’re all a bunch of cheeky monkeys.

So it goes.

All By Myself

17 Jan

Hubby headed off to San Jose today to visit his mother, brother and new sister-in-law. I already miss him, but I also slept a good portion of the day. I am feeling much better, though, and I hope I can get myself out for a short shopping trip just a few blocks from home.

Is anyone watching Celebrity Apprentice? I’ve watched a couple of episodes just to see how Gene Simmons would do. He is an extremely arrogant nitwit.

Sunday is posting day for the Mystery Topic Challenge #6. If you’re participating, get writing. I’ve been mulling over some ideas with my Super Ninjas and hopefully we’ll have a few wrinkles ironed out soon.

I think my mind is a little in spin mode. It’s been asleep for a couple of days, so now it’s waking up and my thoughts are going everywhere. I think I’ll stop before I get too scattered.

Sopranos Finale

11 Jun

Well, that was extremely disappointing.

The last scene is one in which Tony and his family are all gathering to have dinner at a little diner that seems to be a favorite of theirs. There’s a build-up of tension as suspicious looking characters file into the eatery. Meanwhile, Meadow is out in the street trying to parallel park her car. Just as she succeeds, jumps out and runs across the street, the shot swings back to a close-up shot of Tony’s face. His jaw begins to drop and then the screen cuts sharply to black and silence.

That’s just a cheap ending. It’s as though the creators were hedging their bets on the chance that they might either make a Sopranos movie, or another season somewhere other than HBO. If such a move was their intention, then she should have shown Tony stepping into Phil’s shoes and continuing on with business as usual. If there was no chance of any sort of revival in the series, then they should have killed him, or put him in jail.

It was lame, cheap, and really cheated the audience.

I Have Been Here Before

I am seeking a question.
